What is Adipotide?
Adipotide is a synthetic peptide with two parts. One end, CKGGRAKDC, homes in on prohibitin, a protein found on the blood vessels that supply white fat. The other end, D(KLAKLAK)2, is a membrane-disrupting sequence that kills the cells it reaches.
It was developed at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center by Wadih Arap, Renata Pasqualini and Mikhail Kolonin. It isn’t an approved drug.
Adipotide in published research
Kolonin and colleagues reported in Nature Medicine in 2004 that the peptide reversed obesity in mice by cutting off the blood supply to fat tissue.
In 2011, Barnhart and colleagues tested it in obese rhesus monkeys (Science Translational Medicine). The animals lost about 11% of body weight in four weeks, with signs of reversible kidney stress.
For the primary literature, PubMed lists the Adipotide studies.
The biology behind Adipotide
The targeting end binds prohibitin on endothelial cells lining the vessels of white fat. Once the conjugate is pulled into those cells, the KLAKLAK end damages mitochondrial membranes and triggers cell death.
With its blood supply cut, the fat tissue shrinks. Labs studying it watch kidney markers closely, since the kidney effects were the main problem in the primate work.

Adipotide 10mg reconstitution and storage
Divide 10mg by the volume of water and you have the concentration:
- 1mL of water: 10mg per mL
- 2mL of water: 5mg per mL
- 3mL of water: 3.33mg per mL
Let the vial warm to room temperature first. Run the water slowly down the side of the glass, then swirl or roll it until the powder is gone. Don’t shake it; foam is a sign of damaged peptide.
Dry vials last longest frozen at -20°C. Reconstituted solution goes in the fridge and is best used within four weeks or so.
Planning a study with Adipotide 10mg
Work out the total amount the protocol needs first, then add about 20% for test runs and the odd lost dose. Ordering everything from one lot keeps the material consistent through the whole study.
Where Adipotide fits
Adipotide targets blood vessels that feed fat tissue and was tested in obese monkeys. If you’re choosing between options, these are the usual alternatives:
- AOD-9604 is hGH fragment 177-191 with an extra tyrosine, studied for fat breakdown without raising IGF-1
- Fragment 176-191 is the fat-metabolism end of growth hormone, without the growth effects
- MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide coded in mitochondrial DNA, studied for glucose use in muscle
- AICAR is a small molecule that switches on AMPK, the cell’s energy sensor
They all show up in fat metabolism research but start from different places: GH fragments acting on fat cells, energy-sensing pathways inside the cell, and a peptide that targets fat tissue’s blood supply. All of them are on our fat loss peptides page.
Often ordered with Adipotide 10mg
- AOD-9604 5mg, a hGH fragment
- Tesamorelin 5mg / 10mg, a GHRH analog
- Fragment 176-191 CJC-1295 Ipamorelin Blend 12mg, with Fragment 176-191, Mod GRF 1-29 and Ipamorelin in one vial
- MOTS-c 10mg, a mitochondrial peptide
The full range is on the research peptides page. For this research area, go to fat loss peptides.
Adipotide 10mg from a store that sells peptides only
Our catalog is narrow on purpose: research peptides, blends and cosmetic peptide powders. That keeps stock moving, so the vial you order isn’t one that has been sitting on a shelf for a year.
If something arrives damaged or isn’t what you ordered, tell us soon after delivery. Photos of the parcel and the vial make it quicker to sort out.
Free shipping on Adipotide 10mg
We don’t charge for shipping, wherever the parcel is going. Freeze-dried material is fine at room temperature for the trip; put it in the freezer when it arrives.
Every product is listed in our shop, and the Biotech Peptides Shop home page links to the blog’s country-by-country delivery guides.
