How ACE-031 works

ACE-031 is the ligand-binding part of the ActRIIB receptor fused to an antibody Fc tail. It soaks up myostatin, activin and GDF-11 before they reach muscle receptors.

With those growth brakes removed, muscle grows. Because it also binds other ligands, it caused small bleeding problems in its clinical trial.

How to mix ACE-031 1mg

The concentration is the 1mg in the vial divided by the water you add:

• 1mL of water: 1mg per mL
• 2mL of water: 0.5mg per mL

Bring the vial to room temperature, add sterile bacteriostatic water against the glass and swirl gently. It should go clear within a minute or two. Shaking only makes foam.

Store sealed vials in the freezer. Once you’ve added water, keep the vial at 2 to 8°C and plan to finish it within roughly a month.
