About Thymalin
Thymalin is a mix of short peptides extracted from calf thymus tissue. Vladimir Morozov and Vladimir Khavinson developed it in Leningrad in the 1970s, and it became the first product of the bioregulator program that later produced Epithalon and the synthetic short peptides.
Because it’s an extract, Thymalin isn’t one molecule. The best-known active fragment identified in it is the dipeptide Glu-Trp, which was later made synthetically as thymogen.
Thymalin research so far
Russian clinical work from the 1980s and 1990s used Thymalin in people with weakened immune function, and Khavinson’s group reported long-term studies in older adults and in aging rats where courses of thymus and pineal peptides were linked to better immune markers and lower mortality.
Almost all of that literature comes from one research school and was published mainly in Russian journals. Independent controlled trials are scarce, so labs tend to treat Thymalin as an exploratory immune and aging model.
The full list of Thymalin papers is on PubMed, and most abstracts are free to read.
Thymalin mechanism of action
The thymus is where T cells mature, and it shrinks steadily with age. The idea behind Thymalin is that peptides from young thymus tissue can support T cell maturation and the balance between T cell subsets.
Khavinson’s group proposes that short thymic peptides pass into the nucleus, bind specific DNA sequences or histone proteins and change how tightly chromatin is packed around certain genes. That would let a tissue-matched peptide turn up the genes that tissue needs.
Studies in older animals measured T cell counts, the ratio of helper to suppressor cells and markers of cell-mediated immunity, which are the usual readouts in thymic peptide work.

Reconstituting Thymalin 25mg
Divide 25mg by the volume of water and you have the concentration:
- 2mL of water: 12.5mg per mL
- 3mL of water: 8.33mg per mL
- 5mL of water: 5mg per mL
Let the vial warm to room temperature first. Run the water slowly down the side of the glass, then swirl or roll it until the powder is gone. Don’t shake it; foam is a sign of damaged peptide.
Before mixing, keep it at -20°C and out of the light. After mixing, the fridge at 2 to 8°C, and use it within about four weeks.
How many vials of Thymalin 25mg to order
Map out the doses per group, multiply by the number of days, and add a margin. It’s cheaper to order one extra vial at the start than to restart a study.
Thymalin vs related compounds
In short, Thymalin is a thymus peptide complex from the Leningrad bioregulator program. Here’s how its neighbors differ:
- Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid thymic peptide, approved in several countries as thymalfasin
- LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin, an antimicrobial peptide that also signals in wound repair
- VIP is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide that relaxes smooth muscle and calms immune cells
- PNC-27 is a p53-derived peptide that binds HDM-2 on cancer cell membranes
All are immune research tools, but they act at very different points, from T cell maturation to direct antimicrobial action. All of them are on our immune peptides page.
Related immune peptides
- KPV 4mg, an alpha-MSH tripeptide
- Thymosin Alpha-1 10mg, a thymic peptide
- Vilon 20mg, a dipeptide bioregulator
- VIP 6mg, a neuropeptide

Buying Thymalin 25mg from Biotech Peptides
Our catalog is narrow on purpose: research peptides, blends and cosmetic peptide powders. That keeps stock moving, so the vial you order isn’t one that has been sitting on a shelf for a year.
If something arrives damaged or isn’t what you ordered, tell us soon after delivery. Photos of the parcel and the vial make it quicker to sort out.
Free shipping on Thymalin 25mg
We don’t charge for shipping, wherever the parcel is going. Freeze-dried material is fine at room temperature for the trip; put it in the freezer when it arrives.
